A new fuse box (also known as a consumer unit) usually comes with a rewire because if the wiring system is old, the fuse box is likely to be as well. If the fuse box needs replacing, you may also need a rewire. These days all electrical consumer units must have RCD protection – that means a residual circuit device on all circuits, making your home much safer.
